Leading Research Programme
The Leading Research Programme is aimed at researchers who have applied for (or are about to apply for) their first research grant.
The Programme has been developed by a partnership between Research and Innovation Services (RIS) and the Centre for Academic and Researcher Development (CAROD).
The Leading Research Programme draws on the expertise of a wide range of internal and external facilitators and speakers, who have experience and understanding of the research environment and the challenges and pressures facing researchers managing research projects.
The programme commences in December and runs through to April/May and contains the following core workshops:
- Managing your Research Project
- The Research Leader as Manager
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Introduction to Employment Law
- Transform the Way You Communicate - Working with the Media
- Developing your Strategy for Research
There is also an optional workshop; Leading Research in a Day which is an opportunity to hear from the various departments and teams who support research endeavour. This is an opportunity to hear about the support offered by Research and Innovation Services, Procurement, Library, Finance and the Legal team amongst others
Expressions of interest to attend the programme should be lodged by the appropriate Head of Department with RIS by the end of November each year. The participation of each individual must be endorsed by their Head of Department.
If you would like to do the programme you must make a commitment to attend the core workshop.
