Research Staff

The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers was launched in 2008. Co-ordinated by Universities UK and Research Councils UK, this document sets out clear, comprehensive expectations and responsibilties for researchers and for managers, funders and employers.

Durham University is committed to the Concordat and supporting its valued Research Staff. This webpage and the ones that follow are designed to inform you about the Concordat and to provide you with a portal uniting all the relevant information pertaining to the terms of the Concordat from within the University's website. Please use the links on the left to find out more.

The Concordat Implementation Group (CIG) oversees the implementation of the Concordat - this has included the production of a Gap Analysis and Action Plan and HR Excellence in Research Report. CIG will monitor the implementation of the action plan and its effectiveness.
