Types of Referrals
You can refer a staff member for the following reasons:
- Long Term Sickness Absence
A member of staff has been absent for a period of 4 weeks or more
- Frequent Intermittent Absence
A member of staff has had 3 occasions of absence within a 3 month period or 10 days in a rolling year.
- Management Referral
A Manager or a member of staff have concerns re health issues.
These will include:
- Ill Health Retirement
- Disabled car parking permit request
For further information please refer to the HR policy for absence management by clicking here. Following receipt of the management referral an appointment letter will be issued to the staff member with copy sent via email to the Referring Manager and HR Business Partner. Alternatively a referral will be made to the relevant service i.e. Occupational Health Physiotherapist or University Counselling Service will be made.
