Cycling Campaign - UniCycle

UniCycle was a cycling campaign for students, held during Michaelmas Term 2017 at Durham University, to help raise awarenss for cyclists 'to be seen and be safe' and also having fun whilst cycling. Working in partnership with Cycling UK, Durham County Council, Recyke Y'Bike, Durham Constabulary, Breeze and Living Streets, UniCycle offered bike freebies and events for all university students.

As part of the campagin there was a FREE UniCycle Celebration event for students in November at St. Mary's College, which will included stalls, freebies, free bike Security marking. Students were encouraged to bling their bikes and win a prize. The event ended with a 3 mile night bike ride. All students were encouraged to attend the event, even if they were unable to make the bike ride or walk. Free at the event were cycle maps, lights and representatives were also available from Living Streets who talked about the benefits of walking. Staff and students also had the opportunity to have their bikes security marked free by the local Police.
