Fairtrade Fortnight 2018
This year's Fairtrade Fortnight will take place from 26th February to 11th March and provide the opportunity for all University staff and students to find out more about Fairtrade and how they can support it. The University has been accredited by the Fairtrade Foundation since 2007.
This year's Environment Week will be incorporated into the Fairtrade celebrations and will take place during the first week. Further details will be announed shorthly.
The key event of Durham University's Fairtrade Fortnight is our University-wide Big Fairtrade Bake.
The Big Fairtrade Bake is open to all staff and students, so get together with your Durham University friends or colleagues and share your Fairtrade Bake. Please note that sign up for free ingredients (sugar and flour, kindly donated by Bidfood) to assist you in the Big Fairtrade Bake will open from Friday 19th January 2018.
Win Fairtrade goodies
Submit a photo of your Fairtrade bake during the Fortnight (27th February to 11th March 2018) and you will be entered into a prize draw for a selection of Fairtrade goodies. Simply email your photo to firstname.lastname@example.org or upload to the Greenspace Facebook Page. Please note the competition will close on Monday 12th March 2018.

Many college formals during the fortnight will have a Fairtrade or Environmental theme and menu, and wine receptions are encouraged to consider Fairtrade or vegetarian wine. Colleges will also raise awareness of the local food used within menus.
Big Fairtrade Bake Sign Up Form
Staff and students can sign up until Friday 16th February 2018 to receive free Fairtrde sugar and flour.
The Catering Department will bake some delicious muffins for the Vice-Chancellor. University members will be able to guess the Fairtrade ingredients in the cake and be entered into a prize draw to win some Fairtrade goodies. Watch out for this year's competition, details available shortly.
