Handbooks

Available on DUO, this guide contains information for new and continuing students.

This handbook contains information about training opportunities for research postgraduates. It is issued to new Postgraduate Research Students in paper form at the Research Induction event.

The Postgraduate Module Handbook includes the programme frameworks for all of Durham University's postgraduate degree programmes with taught components, so that you can check: which modules are compulsory on your programme; whether you have any optional choices; and if you do have optional choices, how many you have and the extent of the choice open to you.

Intended primarily for staff but useful also to students, this handbook contains University guidance on teaching and learning matters, including the admission of taught postgraduate students, monitoring of taught postgraduate student progress, curriculum development, the Code of Practice for research degree programmes, programme review and monitoring, student feedback, examinations and assessment and the assessment of the quality of education. It exists only in electronic form, and is up-dated continually as policies and procedures develop, but pages can be printed when necessary.

This two-volume book contains all of the University Regulations, Core and Programme Regulations, Statutes and a wealth of other information. It is available in printed form in Departments and from the Governance Support Unit in the University Office.
