Castle Lecture Series
The Durham Castle Lecture Series is devoted to bringing high-profile speakers to Durham who can contribute to academic and public discussion on issues of global significance. Each of the specially invited presenters has made an outstanding contribution over a sustained period of time, making them an obvious choice of speaker for this major new lecture series.
This is your chance to see, hear and learn from incredible speakers, to ask questions and think about answers. The aim is to have a create a vibrant atmosphere for intellectual debate on major issues.
The lectures will take place in the stunning setting of Durham Castle's Great Hall; with a maximum capacity of 250 the Great Hall provides a unique, historic location.
All of the lectures in the series are free and open to all.
Tickets will be available a week in advance of each lecture, available to collect from the Porters Lodge at the entrance to Durham Castle. Remaining tickets will be available from 6:45pm on the evening of the lectures at the entrance to Castle Great Hall.
Doors will open from 7.45pm. Lectures will begin at 8pm, with questions for the speaker at 9pm.
Anyone collecting tickets early is welcome to wait in the Castle's renowned Undercroft Bar prior to the lecture. The Durham Castle Lecture series has been made possible thanks to a generous gift from Santander Universities
