BIOPICC Post Doctoral Research Assistant - Ref: 3363

The University of Durham wishes to appoint a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) for 30 months to contribute to the EPSRC funded Built Infrastructure for Older People in Climate Change (BIOPICC) project. The successful candidate will be based in Durham’s Geography Department (awarded the highest, 5* ranking in the last Research Assessment Exercise) and will join the Institute for Hazard and Risk Research (IHRR), as well as working closely with researchers specialising in health geography and related fields in the School of Applied Social Sciences and the Wolfson Institute, University of Durham Queen’s Campus. The appointee will play a key role by taking responsibility for developing and managing part of this project programme (in agreement with the Principal Investigator) and leading on the preparation of material for dissemination and future research development. The successful applicant will have a PhD awarded or submitted for examination in a relevant discipline, with knowledge and experience of research on at least some topics relevant to this research (e.g. climate change and sociodemographic forecasting, health care provision for older populations and their health and social care, impacts of climate change on health services). They will also have knowledge and experience in advanced use of quantitative research methods for manipulating and analysing data sets and conducting and analysing semi-structured questionnaire surveys.

Salary: £29,704 per annum
