IT Technician - Ref: 2444

We seek applications for a Grade 5 Technician within the Geography Department to work as part of a team providing IT support for teaching, research and administration. The successful candidate will show a strong personal commitment to maintain and improve current levels of IT support. The Department runs an integrated Windows® Active Directory network, and the person appointed will work with a wide range of operating systems, including: Windows XP; Windows Vista; Windows 2003 Server; Linux and; Macintosh OSX. Applicants must have an IT related qualification and proven experience in software and hardware support. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and will work as part of a team to undertake day-to-day maintenance of the computer systems; assist in the maintenance and operation of laboratory & field equipment for teaching and research and; assist with the maintenance of software for both teaching and research.

The Department of Geography has been active in the development of the strategy and plan, and works closely with the Director of University IT and the central IT Service (ITS) to enable the University to achieve its IT Vision.

Salary: £18,165
