Postdoctoral Research Associate - Ref: 2275

The Departments of Geography at Durham and Exeter wish to appoint a 30-month full time post-doctoral Research Associate to work on a collaborative research project between the Universities of Brighton, Birmingham, Durham, Exeter, Leeds and UIUC (Illinois). We seek a Research Associate/Fellow to develop numerical models for the understanding of large rivers. The Research Associate/Fellow will be based in Durham for the first 15 months of the project and will then move to Exeter. The post will start c. 1st June 2008. The post will consist of two separate 50% fte contracts running for 30 months. These will run under Durham and Exeter Terms & Conditions concurrently but responsibility for day to day management will lie with the University at which the appointee is based at that time. It is anticipated that the post will be affiliated to Exeter at the beginning of the 16th month following commencement of the post (1st September 2009 dependent upon commencement date).

Salary: From £27,466 pro rata
