Research Associate - Institute of Hazard & Risk Research - Ref: 1766

The Institute of Hazard and Risk Research (IHRR), and the Department of Geography, Durham University, seek to appoint a research associate to undertake cross-European collaborative research on the social and ethical dimensions of nanotechnology. Funded by the European Commission as part of its Science in Society Programme, the DEEPEN Project (Deepening Ethical Engagement and Participation in Emerging Nanotechnologies) is Europe’s leading research partnership for integrated understanding of the ethical challenges posed by emerging nanotechnologies, and their implications for civil society, for governance, and for scientific practice. Durham University is coordinating the DEEPEN project and the appointed research associate will have responsibilities for undertaking qualitative research, for coordinating and integrating research across the European partners, and for disseminating and publishing research outputs.

Salary: £26,402 per annum.
