Lectureship in Human Geography x2

These posts build on our position as a leading department for research, ranked first for research power in REF2014, and education, ranked second in both the 2015 Complete University Guide and the Guardian Guide.

The persons appointed will contribute to one or more of our human geography research clusters:

Culture-Economy-LifeGeographies of Health and WellbeingPolitics-State-SpaceUrban Worlds

At least one post will have expertise in Geographies of Risk that will complement and extend our current research and teaching in this field, in particular to include contributions to our Risk Masters Programme. The following themes are indicative only:

• Human dimensions of environmental risks • Health and risk • Energy and risk • Security and risk

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, and demonstrate a track record of, or potential for, internationally excellent and world leading publications and external research funding. The successful candidate will show a commitment to delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to their research, the successful candidate will perform departmental administrative tasks commensurate with their grade and contribute to our wider human geography teaching programme. It would be appreciated if candidates could state which post/s they are applying for in the covering letter.
