The Department of Geography has received a national award for its progress in advancing gender equality in arts, humanities and social science careers in Higher Education

Professor Mike Crang, Acting Head of the Department of Geography, said: "We are delighted to receive this Bronze Award. The award reflects our full commitment to embedding the values of the Gender Equality Charter Mark across all of our policies and practices for students and staff in a discipline spanning the sciences and social sciences. This recognition marks the start of an important process of change on which we must now build".
