Employers Events

Employer activity at Durham University is thriving, although we acknowledge that it is sometimes difficult to find that perfect location. The Careers Centre has been working collaboratively with Event Durham to provide a range of suitable locations and services for employer activity.

Please ensure that you have checked event dates with the Careers Centre in the first instance (0191 334 1431), Event Durham can then guide you through possible event locations within the University and wider Durham City.

The Penthouse Suite, Collingwood College

This purpose-built suite of meeting rooms consists of 3 conference rooms and a smaller break out room. The main meeting room has a maximum capacity of 170 delegates in a theatre style and can also be divided into 2 smaller rooms each with a capacity of 60 theatre style . The Penthouse Boardroom is also situated within the suite with capacity for 50 delegates theatre style or can be used for catering. There is also a small seminar room within the suite with capacity for 10 delegates each. Wi-fi is available throughout. These rooms are available throughout the year.

The Lindisfarne Centre, St Aidan's College

The Lindisfarne Centre is a purpose built conference centre that can accommodate 100 people in a theatre syle. The Centre can also be partioned into 3 separate rooms and has built in AV facilities & wi-fi internet access. The Lindisfarne Centre is available throughout the year

Room Hire Charge - £235 per session (6pm onwards)

Holgate Conference Centre, Grey College

The purpose-built Holgate Conference Centre consist of a main room that accommodate 100 in a theatre style and two small breakout rooms that can each hold up to 20 in a theatre style. The conference centre is used for University teaching throughout the day during term time, but is available for events after 6pm.

Room Hire Charge - £235 per session (6pm onwards)

Kenworthy Hall, St Mary's College

The light and airy Kenworthy Hall can take up to 80 delegates in a theatre style and has built in AV facilities and disabled access. The neo-classical St Mary's College is the cloest "Hill College" to the centre of the City.

Room Hire Charge - £165 per session (6pm onwards)

Birley Room, Hatfield College

Situated in the heart of the City the Birley Room can accommodate up to 50 delegates making it ideal for smaller meetings, presentations or seminars. The room has an attractive large bay window giving ample natural daylight.
