Crash and Burn: A Poetry Reading in Honour of Michael O'Neill (1953-2018)
A poetry evening in honour of Michael O'Neill, to mark the publication of Michael's posthumous collection of poems, Crash and Burn (Arc), and celebrate Michael's earlier works and the poetry he cared for by other writers.
Readers will include members of staff and the poet, Jamie McKendrick, who often shared a stage with Michael at the Durham Literary Festival and other events. Jamie has written six poetry collections and has won several awards, including the Forward Prize for The Marble Fly (1997) and the Hawthornden Prize for Out There (2012). His most recent collection of poems is Anomaly (Faber, 2018).
Refreshments will be provided.
At the present time, to ensure this event does not exceed capacity, this is open to all staff, students and invited family and friends.
