Dr Tim Charlton, MEng, PhD

Dr Tim Charlton is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Engineering and part of the Sustainable Infrastructure Research Challenge. Tim previously completed a MEng degree in Civil Engineering in 2013 and an EPSRC funded PhD in Computational Mechanics in 2018, both also at Durham University. Tim's current research is in the development of advanced constitutive models for unsaturated expansive soils as part of the WindAfrica project. Tim has previously worked on modelling finite deformation problems using the Material Point Method.
