Encore Academic Liaison Group (EALG)
About us
The Encore Academic Liaison Group was formed in November 2018 to help shape the future direction for our Encore service and ensure the University maximises the benefits offered by lecture capture technology. Specifically the group:
- Advises the PVC for Education on the future development of the Encore service
- Provides feedback to the Encore technical service owner on operational matters of concern
- Supports the academic study of the Encore service at Durham University
- Enables research into the lecture capture landscape and advises the PVC for Education on possible pedagogical and technical innovations
- Co-ordinates the exploration of new, innovative uses of Encore and the underpinning Panopto technology with academic colleagues.
Since the EALG was set up, members have been involved in a number of projects. These include leading the staff/student review of lecture capture at Durham, and evaluating the potential for Video Based Assessment (VBA) and white/blackboard capture in lecture recordings. Group members attend monthly meetings where they represent both their faculties and areas of interest: providing feedback, ideas and flagging issues that have been reported by departments. So if you’d like to raise an issue, make a suggestion on how the service can be improved or if you are interested in joining the group, please do get in touch via encore@durham.ac.uk.
Note: For immediate issues and concerns, please contact the IT Service Desk
