Application and interview process for PGCE Primary

All applications for our PGCE and School Direct programmes must be made online through the UCAS Teacher Training application portal.

Please note: It is very important that you disclose any and all disabilities that you might have on your UCAS Teacher Training application form, so that you are able to receive the support you require at both the interview stage and throughout the programme, should you be successful. This information is not considered when applications are reviewed and the School of Education does not discriminate against applicants with disabilities.

Once your application has been received by the ITE Team it is passed to the relevant Admissions Tutor, who will assess your application form against our entry criteria (please see specific programme pages for further details). We consider applications in the order in which they are received and for this reason an early application is advisable.

Further enquiries regarding the admissions process should be addressed to the ITE Team (0191 334 8406).

If you are unsuccessful at this stage...

If you application form does not meet our specified entry requirements we will update UCAS Teacher Training and write to you stating the reason for rejection and, in most cases, additional information on how to improve your application.

Please note: Being rejected by us will not affect your ability to apply for a place with us at a later date.
