Commencing your studies

Your offer letter will specify the start date for your programme of study and we will expect all applicants who have accepted and are holding unconditional offers to commence on this date.  If you are unable to start on this date it is important that you discuss this with your programme director as early as possible to see whether alternative arrangements can be made or whether it will be necessary to defer your entry.  You should contact the Admissions Office in the first instance.

Before your programme begins there will be a number of induction activities and you will be written to a few weeks prior to the start of your course with further details.  The University holds a central postgraduate induction programme - the details of this will be placed on-line nearer the time at:

In addition there may be some departmental induction activities for your programme which you will be expected to attend.  Your programme secretary will be in touch a few weeks before you commence with further details.

Once you have commenced on your programme you will be able to complete the final steps of enrolment and registration such as verifying your identity, collecting your campus card (which gives you access to University facilities such as the library) and registering for your modules or thesis.
