Figure 3.3: Extract from the Burleigh map of Wainfleet Haven showing the area now known as Chop Hills. It is clearly a conventional depiction and the small circles are dissimilar from those to show sluices and flood-gates at the same period. The suggestion is that they are 'hills' of salt waste.
