The Durham Award

Durham Award

The Durham Award is a mark of excellence, recognised by employers and allows you to stand out from the crowd and demonstrate your employability.

Students can complete the Durham Award in any year of study, as long as they have already completed their College Award. It is a chance for students who have gone that extra mile during their time at Durham and can offer something special to an employer. Students who wish to receive the Durham Award will be required to complete a portfolio to be assessed by a member of University staff and an external employer. They will need to demonstrate how they are employable as a result of their time at Durham and will do this through a portfolio that includes a five minute video presentation, a completed Linkedin profile, an activity log and evidence of their activities during their time at Durham.

Registrations for the Durham Award open in Michaelmas Term each year.

Important: To be eligible for the Durham Award, you need to have completed the College Award by the end of your penultimate year of study at the latest.

“The Durham Award provides students with a fantastic opportunity to recognise their capabilities and articulate their skills so that they can differentiate themselves in a competitive graduate recruitment market place.”
