Donate your used books

Moving house? Retiring from paid work? Liberating some shelf space?

We would be very pleased to receive any books that you would like to give us. As well as providing a welcome boost to the funds of this charity, your books could prove useful to other people somewhere in the world. Please pass on this message to your friends and colleagues.

The scheme

We will store the books you give us and sell them either on internet bookselling sites or at occasional bookstalls in the university or Durham City. 100% of the proceeds are paid to DPET.

Types of book

We are mainly interested in academic, political, philosophical and hobby books, but any and all books are acceptable.

We can collect within the Durham City area, usually within 1 or 2 days. To arrange collection, please
• email or phone Vin on 0191 3843061,
• tell us approximately how many books you are donating and
• tell us whether or not we need to bring boxes.
Collections from other parts of the UK can sometimes be arranged but we usually need longer notice.

Bequeath your books

We know that many supporters are loath to part with their much-loved books. Why not pin a note to your Will (don't alter the Will itself) to say that, after family and other bequests, you would like the residue of your books to come to the Durham Palestine Educational Trust? The name and address of the Secretary of the Trust at that time can always be found on the website of the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
