DSU: Can you help?
To develop further and fulfil its mission Durham Students' Union is looking for four dedicated and experienced individuals to join the Union's Trustee Board as co-opted trustees.
DSU is the representative and campaigning organisation for 14,000 students at Durham University. The Trustee Board is comprised of four co-opted trustees, four sabbatical officers and four student trustees, and is the governing body of the Union; collectively trustees have ultimate responsibility for all the Union's affairs. Co-opted (non-student) trustees are recruited for the skills and experience they can bring to the management of the Union.
In light of the 2006 Charities Act, we have reviewed DSU's governance, adopted a new constitution and introduced a Trustee Board; these changes mean that it's a really exciting time to get involved in the Union. There are vacancies for four co-opted trustees, taking office from 1 August 2008.
The Union is an active and diverse body that exists to promote the educational and social interests of Durham students and actively contributes towards enhancing student life. If you would like to get involved and could bring skills and experience to the board then please do get in touch.
For more information and details of how to apply please see our information pack here. Closing date is 30th May 2008.
Please direct enquiries to the DSU President, Flo Herbert via email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 0191 334 1811.
