Family Creepy Castle Tours, 1.15, 2.15, 3.15
Steady your nerves for a unique and atmospheric family tour around Durham Castle on the 29th October.
Castle Community Action (CCA) and Durham Castle Museum have teamed together to offer you a unique experience at Durham Castle. Hear some spine-tingling stories told by our Castle Guides. Meet characters from the darker side of Durham Castle, from fearsome invaders to ferocious judges and possible murder victims - all have their tales to tell.
Your family tour will include:
- Spine-tingling stories told by our Castle Guides
- Halloween inspired crafts in the Great Hall
- The chance to meet characters from the darker side of Durham Castle
Fancy dress is encouraged
The tour ends with craft activities in the Great Hall based around some of the historical events at Durham Castle. Tours take place 1.15, 2.15 and 3.15pm and need to be booked in advance. Please choose your slot when booking tickets, there is a small booking fee of £1.
Places for the event itself are limited and need to be booked in advance. Tickets are required for both adults and children (including infants). The historic nature and layout of the Castle means that the majority of the building is inaccessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs. The tour route involves some steps and staircases, some of which are uneven. Tours and activities will last approximately 1 ½ hours.
Please meet at Palace Green Library ten minutes before the start of the tour, and collect your ticket from the reception desk.
