Corina Folescu is a Doctoral Research Student in the School of Government and International Affairs under the current supervision of Dr. Gidon Cohen and Dr. Christian Schweiger. She studied International Relations and European Studies (2005/2008) at the Babes Bolyai University in Cluj Napoca and completed an MA in International Studies (2008/2009) at Durham University and an MA in International Relations and European Integration (2009/2011) at the National School for Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest.
Corina Folescu is currently developing her doctoral thesis which is centred on Romania and Bulgaria’s compliance with European legislation in the post-accession period. Her approach takes into account not only transposition of legally binding acts, but also focuses on progress made by the Romanian and Bulgarian governments towards reaching the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism benchmarks and political responses within the two countries towards EU soft law governance mechanisms.
