Mr Lukas Simkus, LLB (Hons) University of Glasgow, LLM University of Edinburgh, FHEA
Since 2015 Lukas Simkus has been a PhD researcher in the fields of international economic law, banking law and European law at Durham Law School and a member of the Durham European Law Institute (DELI) and Institute of Commercial and Corporate Law (ICCL). He has also held the position of Symposium Coordinator of St Hild and St Bede College.
As a senior associate of an international law firm, Lukas has substantial experience in international banking and regulation of cross-border asset relocation. He holds an LL.B. Honours degree in Law and Business Management from the University of Glasgow and an LL.M. in Economic Law from the University of Edinburgh, where he passed his dissertation with distinction.
His primary research interest is European banking regulation and effects of legal measures on non-performing loan portfolio management.
Lukas has also been engaged in pedagogical research, with particular interest in physical classroom feature arrangements.
