Se-shauna Wheatle joined Durham Law School in 2013, and teaches Comparative Constitutional Law and UK Constitutional Law. She was previously Lecturer in Law at Exeter College, University of Oxford, where she taught Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. She achieved her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of the West Indies before attending the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar to read for the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) and Doctor of Philosophy in Law (DPhil).

Se-shauna has written a monograph, Principled Reasoning in Human Rights Adjudication, which was shortlisted for the Society of Legal Scholars Birks Prize 2018. Her current research interests lie in comparative constitutionalism, comparative human rights, common law constitutionalism and implied constitutional principles. Her work has been published in journals such as Public Law, the Journal of Comparative Law and the European Human Rights Law Review. She is also co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Caribbean Constitutions.
