Durham University Folk Society

(7 February 2020)

Want to try social folk dance from traditions across the UK? Fancy a fabulous evening full of fun dancing and live music? Come to our Ceilidh, 7-10pm Sunday 16 February, DSU Fonteyn Ballroom. All are welcome - students and non-students, experts and complete beginners. We'll teach you on the spot.

Our Folk Society Ceilidhs have a mix of Irish, Scottish, English, and American dances, usually in a formation like a square or circle or two long lines of people facing each other. No experience required - all dances are explained right before you do them, and a bit of controlled chaos is part of the fun. There will be light refreshments and an interval halfway through. Our ceilidhs are very casual and anyone can ask anyone else to dance, so you can come alone or with a partner or with friends, it's all good. Tickets £5.
