Van Mildert Charity Art Exhibition

(20 November 2019)

Van Mildert College will be hosting a Charity Art Exhibition in coalition with Durham Foodbank on Saturday 7 December. We want your artwork and/or attendance.

A voluntary donation is suggested in the form of non-food perishable food items. Student art, local art, art of any form is encouraged. It can be visual, performance, vocal or written. Just express yourself. Please come down, bring a friend, have fun.

Van Mildert College is running a charity art exhibition in coalition with Durham Foodbank. The idea is to combine local and student artwork to encourage integration between the components of the town. As a team we are currently trying to spread awareness for this amongst students who would be interested in creating for or attending this event. Any kind of artistic expression is encouraged be it visual, audio, performance or written. The exhibition itself will be taking place in Van Mildert College on the seventh of December. A voluntary donation in the form of non-perishable food items (suitable for the foodbank) is encouraged and will hopefully provide families with a Christmas. I am writing to to ask if you would be kind enough to circulate this information.

Van Mildert bar will have live music (performing some seasonal songs) and an open mic for all those inclined to perform (be it music, poetry, spoken word or whatever they can think of) as well as serving drinks. There is no theme and submissions of any quality will be both encouraged and exhibited. The Newcastle mining institution are displaying and potentially one of the art communes from by Pity-Me will join in.
