Lumiere Durham 2019: Programme and practicalities

(18 October 2019)

Lumiere, the UK’s largest light festival, returns to Durham in November and this week the organisers have announced the full programme. We’re proud to be a major partner for Lumiere: sponsoring the festival, hosting several installations and partnering across volunteering, cultural engagement and logistics. For more information on how we’re involved, please visit the website.

Students can find out more about how to get involved and make the most of Lumiere at a talk by Kate Harvey, Senior Producer of Artichoke, the company that produces Lumiere, in the Hogan Lovells Lecture Theatre, in the Palatine Centre, on Thursday 7 November at 5pm. To book your free place, please click here.

Lumiere Durham 2019 will impact the day-to-day operations of the University in a number of areas. Andrea Cairns, Senior Events and Customer Service Manager at Event Durham, is co-ordinating our involvement in Lumiere and has already contacted many of the Colleges and Departments most affected by the festival. As Lumiere approaches, further operational details will be circulated via Dialogue Signposts and Message of the Day. In the meantime, if you have questions please email:
