Northern Lights at York Minster, featuring Durham's Ordered Universe project

(10 October 2019)

This autumn see York Minster in a different light with Northern Lights, an awe-inspiring light and sound installation inspired by Durham University research. The installation will transform the cathedral’s vast Nave with images and audio, some inspired by the work of the Ordered Universe project led by Durham University.

Ordered Universe is an international project exploring the dazzling works of medieval thinker Robert Grosseteste, who explored natural phenomena such as colour, the rainbow, cosmology, comets and the notion of place.

Northern Lights is the latest collaboration between the Ordered Universe team and creative projection experts The Projection Studio with truly mesmerising results.

On Saturday 26 October the Ordered Universe project team will also be giving evening talks about their project, exploring the works of Robert Grosseteste.

Tickets for both the main installation and the talks are available via the York Minster website - be quick as it is sure to be popular!
