Write for an international initiative

(10 March 2017)

CALLING ALL FEMALE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS!

If you'd be interested in writing a blog post for an international initiative please read on!

I am the UK Ambassador for G(irls)20 and I am launching an initiative that will connect girls and women around the world and I would love your members to help me to launch it!
When I was at the G(irls)20 Summit in Beijing, discussing with girls from around the world and advising G20 leaders on how we can increase female labour force participation and make progress towards equality, the best experience was hearing the stories of people from all the different countries that were represented. Therefore, I am launching an initiative to give the opportunity to learn about girls and women across the world to everyone who wants it.

The initiative aims to connect girls and women across the world, directly and through publishing stories about what it is like to be a girl or woman in different countries. I would really love if any of you who have first hand experience of living in in a country other than the UK would contribute a blog post for my initiative to share the story of your country and experiences. The article can be of any length and could be on things like educational experiences, motherhood, employment/careers, societal attitudes or expectations, women in STEM, healthcare, mental health, any good schemes that your country run for women or things that need improving. If you think of a topic that you think is important about girls / women in your country, please write on this! It can also be a mix of topics if you wish. I can proofread the blog if you would like me to and will of course let you authorise any suggestions! The blog post will be posted on the initiative's website and social media pages when they are launched. It would be great if I could have it emailed to me (phoebe.a.price@durha.ac.uk) by 30 April.

Thank you in advance and if you have any questions please feel free to ask!
