Josephine Butler College: the Howlands room

Ray was born in 1939 Lancashire. He spent three years in the army, then worked with the Racial Preservation in Leicester. From there he became a member of the British Movement, being appointed Organiser for Leicester in 1968. He emigrated to South Africa and became chairman of the South African National Front. He returned to Leicester in 1980 and joined the newly launched British National Party!!!! He later defected and is here to talk about his experiences and the undercover work that he did during his time at the BNP!!
He has since worked with the student movement, which has led to his election, as an Honorary Vice President of the National Union of Students.
