Apple Mac users – make sure your device is secure
We are aware of a significant vulnerability affecting Apple Mac computers (Apple iPads and iPhones are not affected). As there is a growing Mac community outside of CIS support, and many students use these devices, the IT Service Desk has emailed all students and staff about the issue. Planning to travel home at Christmas?
When planning your end of (and start of) term travel, try where possible to travel by public transport. If you are travelling by car, then don’t forget to car share. Whether it is a taxi to the station or a longer drive home, car sharing is a great way to save money (and to reduce your impact on the environment). If you would like to register as a driver or look up a journey as a passenger, then visit here, Go Car Share or liftshare.com/uk/community/durhamcountycouncil.

SCA Christmas drive
SCA Volunteering collected 40 advent calendars for the children of the Great North Children's Hospital last week! You can still get involved with the SCA Christmas drive by donating unused toys for children aged 0-18 until Friday, 15 December or you can collect a shoe box from your college JCR before Saturday, 9 December to fill with items for the homeless in the local area. Your shoe box could include socks, gloves, sweets, toothbrushes, toiletries and cutlery and anything else you can think of that might bring some happiness to a homeless person's Christmas Day. Please bring all donations of unused toys and Christmas shoe boxes to the Experience Durham Office in the Palatine Centre (PC012).
