Did You Know…Livers In and Out can take part in the Green Move Out scheme to reduce waste and support local charities? Further details can be found on the Greenspace Green Move Out website.

Every year during the summer, thousands of students move between properties or away from Durham. During this time a large amount of waste is generated in the local area. The Green Move Out scheme collects students’ unwanted reusable items and donates them to local charities for reuse. Since its launch in 2005, students have donated more than 126 tonnes of re-usable items, raised over £14,000 for local charities through re-use sales.

Purple collection bags are currently being delivered to hundreds of student properties in Durham City, including several purpose-built student accommodation providers who have signed up to the scheme. Purple collection bags will be distributed to all Livers In shortly.
