Helping you stay safe, on campus and in the City

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the health, safety and wellbeing of students, staff and the communities of which we are part has been our first priority. Within that, we want you to enjoy the best possible education and student experience with us. To help us do this, we would be grateful if you would complete a short questionnaire, which should take no more than two minutes. For more information about keeping safe on campus and in the City, please click here.

Introducing the University Security Community Response Team

We are proud that most of you have responded to the current Covid-19 restrictions positively. However, if behaviour falls below the standards we would expect, we will take swift and decisive action to protect other students, our staff and the local community. We have introduced a Community Response Team to support our local police during Covid-19 by engaging with students, explaining the current local and national Covid-19 restrictions, and encouraging students to observe these.

Library Document Delivery Service / Inter-Library Loans

Document Delivery Service (DDS) allows staff and students of Durham University to obtain material not currently held by the Library. All DDS services nationwide (including the British Library) were suspended as the nation went into lockdown in March. This has remained the situation until very recently, but some services are being re-established. The British Library re-instated their inter-library lending for DDS services on 1 October. We are now also gradually reinstating DDS services to request items from other libraries for Durham University library users. For information, please visit here.

This is currently available on a drop-in basis (first come first served) with no time restriction, although we ask that you are considerate of other students who may need the space.
