Ballet workshops in French
Free ballet workshops taught in French for people who are interested in ballet and want to practise French in a relaxed environment. The remaining workshops in Term 2 will take place on Wednesdays 19/02, 26/02, 11/03 and 18/03 from 5 to 6 pm at the fitness studio of Collingwood College.

Creative Writing Workshop for International Women's Day
On Thursday 12 March 2020, 5.00 – 7.00 at Alington House Community Association, writer Florianne Humphrey will be running a creative writing workshop to celebrate International Women's Day.
Durham Emerging Leadership Programme
APPLICATIONS ARE STILL OPEN for the Durham University Emerging Leadership Programme. Our next full day training session takes place on Sunday 15 March 2020, 8am – 6pm. We invite any student at Durham University to attend the Emerging Leadership Programme which offers a grounded, comprehensive introduction to key ideas of leadership. This is a FREE programme, open to ANY student of Durham University with transport, lunch and refreshments included.

IMEMS Summer School: Palaeography and Latin
The teaching programme is divided into morning classes and afternoon independent study sessions. The morning sessions will consist of lectures and exercises and will include a short break for coffee. These include exercises in reading and transcription. The afternoon sessions consist of hands-on independent work with medieval manuscripts, and will culminate in a workshop with a series of presentations.

IMEMS: Summer School: Things That Matter. Material and Culture in/for the Digital Age
“Things that Matter” addresses the tension between the materiality of sources and their digitization. The recent advances of digital technology have created new modes of reproduction and forms of consumption that have substantially reshaped the concepts of ‘object’ and of ‘collection’ at the heart of cultural institutions such as libraries and museums.
Dates and location: 15 - 19 June 2020, Durham, UK
Course fee (incl. excursions) £250 or free for students of the universities of Durham, Uppsala and Groningen.

International Women’s Day Panel Discussion
The University’s Interfaith Inspirational Women’s Group invites everyone to a panel discussion with women from Jewish, Muslim, Christian and other faiths or cultures speaking about the challenges they face in their work and daily life. This event will take place on Sunday 8 March, 7pm at Lindisfarne Centre, St. Aidan’s College. The panel will be followed by a Q&A discussion. Both men and women are welcome!
