Closure of Territorial Lane and Elvet Waterside car parks

Territorial Lane and Elvet Waterside car parks will no longer be available for parking from Sunday 7 July. This is to allow the first phase of works to the area proposed for the Business School to commence. Alternative informal parking is available at Green Lane.

Out of hours access through Botanic Garden

Please note that from Monday 1st July 2019, access through the Botanic Garden for Durham University staff and students will be during opening hours only. There will be no access through the Garden out of hours. This measure is to ensure the safety of staff and students. There will be no changes to access arrangements during opening hours. If you have any queries, please contact: eandflouise@durham.ac.uk.

Voice of the Bridge: Durham Arts Festival

The performance takes place in the Joachim Room of the College of St Hild and St Bede on Saturday 29 June. The room has a licensed bar. For accessibility, directions, and further information about the college see the webpage.

Looking for somewhere to study?

The Bill Bryson Library is now open 24 hours a day until Friday 7 June. There are also spaces in other libraries, buildings, Departments and Colleges. For a full list, visit the Library website, where there is also a link to a Durham Students’ Union map.

A widget showing how many Library spaces are free is displayed at the Library entrance and on the Library website – so you can check before ever leaving home.

Roadworks taking place on South Road

To ensure the safety of students and staff who will be crossing into the new Teaching and Learning Centre when it opens in September, critical roadworks will be taking place on South Road from 13 May for a six week period. All work will take place between the hours of 7pm and 6am, Monday - Saturday. During this time vehicular traffic will be diverted.
