Applications now open for the Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Scholarship Programme 2021 – 25 places available

(9 October 2020)

Calling all first year students (and those in their 2nd year of 4 year courses). Are you interested in getting involved in an academic Leadership and Research Programme? The Laidlaw Scholarship Programme is a rare opportunity as an undergraduate to work alongside leading academics, creating your own tailor-made research project focusing on your interests whilst also undertaking a bespoke leadership development programme. You will also have access to placements where you can put your leadership skills into operation in a way that contributes to various global communities. Each scholar will receive a stipend payment of £6,000 (£3,000 per summer).

In summer one, all scholars will undertake one research project where you will develop, pursue and report on a research question with a research supervisor. This project will be defined by you giving you the opportunity to explore a research area which you are passionate about.

The second summer of the programme involves a number of options whereby you will put your leadership learning into practice for the benefit of others as well as developing your skills through action-based learning.

More information on how to apply can be found in our Laidlaw webpages - and in this Laidlaw Brochure
