Hidden Stories from the River Wear

You are invited to join an online live launch event of Hidden Stories from the Wear online exhibition. The exhibition has been created in collaboration with underwater archaeologist Gary Bankhead and our Museum of Archaeology. The exhibition will bring to light the stories of individual people, romance and religion, toys lost through time, and weird and wonderful artefacts. Programme for the launch event:
An introduction to the River Wear Exhibition; a brief talk by underwater archaeologist Gary Bankhead, who will describe his journey of discovering the River Wear artefacts under Elvet Bridge, and what these discoveries mean to him and what this exhibition could mean for Durham; a behind the scenes look at the various processes of development this exhibition with talks given by the leaders of our Research, Marketing, Education and Design teams; and a Q&A, where our audience is free to ask our team any questions.
The Zoom link and details will be emailed to respondents on the day of the event. You will be required to download Zoom onto your laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone before joining the event.
