Health Research in Horizon Europe

(21 May 2021)

Are you a Health researcher interested in working on challenge-led, collaborative research projects under the new Horizon Europe programme? Come along and join us on Monday 7 June 10am-12 noon when we will be discussing health-related research funding opportunities under Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe.

In this 2 hour session, we will hear from Katie Dingley (MRC) and Jo Frost (Innovate UK) who together comprise the UK National Contact Point for Health research in Horizon Europe. They will take us through the funding landscape for Health under Pillar 2, both within ‘Cluster 1’ – the main home for Health research - and also across the other thematic Clusters. The session will be pitched towards those who are new to European Commission research funding and Horizon Europe, but will hopefully also be of interest to those who are more experienced with European funding. The session should include elements on:

• Intro to Horizon Europe, including UK association

• Opportunities in the Health Cluster - Work Programme

• Opportunities in the Health Cluster - Partnerships

• Opportunities for health/biomedical research in other Clusters

• Getting started with Horizon Europe

• Accessing Support from your NCP

There will be opportunities for Q&A and we will record the presentation component and make slides available following the event. If you are interested please register by email to research.development@durham.ac.uk – we will then provide you with a zoom link to access the meeting. We warmly invite colleagues at Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside Universities to join this event and encourage you share the invitation with relevant non-academic collaborators across our regional Health network.
