Research interview techniques conversation

Durham Centre for Academic Development (DCAD) and Durham Research Methods Centre (DRMC) are co-hosting an interdisciplinary research methods conversation for post graduate students and staff to share challenges and top tips for conducting research interviews in a variety of research contexts at 11am-12pm on Wednesday 5 May 2021. This is an interdisciplinary conversation that is free to attend and open to all staff and graduate students, including those experienced in conducting research interviews and those that are new to the approach. 

Co-hosted by DCAD and DRMC, topics for conversation may include, but are not limited to: question types and probes; approaches to analysing interview data; common problems encountered when conducting interviews; how interviewing fits with other research methods; the unique qualities of interview data; the nature of meaning in the interview context.
