All Together Durham
(30 April 2021)
This month, sees the launch of the Access and Engagement Team's All Together Durham project. The aim of the project is to positively promote the diversity of our current undergraduate students and to redress any misconceptions or myths associated with studying at Durham. We are doing this by linking those Durham Student Ambassadors who work with us back to their former school or college.
So far, we’ve had around 20 schools request resources which include a personalised video, posters and postcards featuring their former student.
As many of our Durham Student Ambassadors come from Widening Participation backgrounds they will act as positive role models for progression by building relationships with their former school to promote Durham and share their experiences. There has been a really positive response from school staff who are understandably keen to reconnect with their former students.
In the next phase of development, we hope to see our Durham Student Ambassadors visiting their former schools and colleges to extend these relationships and to enhance both levels of understanding about Durham and to increase the progression of future undergraduate Widening Participation students to the University.
We will share our progress via the Schools Engagement and Outreach MS teams channel. If you would like to join this channel, search in teams, or fill out this MS form.
