Staff survey

Staff surveys are a great opportunity for all of us to share our open and honest views of working at Durham University. In June 2021 we will be opening a new staff survey and would encourage as many colleagues as possible to contribute their thoughts on the positives of working at Durham University and things that they would like to see change. Further details will be available nearer to the time of the survey launch.

Separately, a survey will be sent out in early May regarding professional services returning to campus and the future workplace strategy and we would welcome colleagues also engaging in that survey, further details of this workplace survey will be shared with PS staff shortly. 

To help the University focus on the things that are important to you, and the community at Durham, we have commissioned the global workplace culture consultancy Great Place to Work® to run the Trust Index© employee survey which is widely used around the world.

This is an important and new approach that the University is taking on staff surveys and is not a standard HEI (Higher Education) staff survey. The survey will measure trust, engagement and culture and will provide information that will support the work of the University in relation to the Respect, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Wellbeing agendas. This survey will also enable us to benchmark globally with different sectors. 

Please do look out for the survey when it is launched. It’s an opportunity for everyone to have their say and share their views - and to make a real difference to our work, environment and community.
