New Insight2Uni Mentor Programme

(26 March 2021)

Our Access and Engagement Department is pleased to be collaborating with 'With Insight Education C.I.C' on their Insight2Uni mentoring programme for Year 12 Black-heritage students. We have 12 current Black-heritage students mentoring 36 prospective students on the programme, which will run over the next 10 months.

New this year, we are working with With Insight Education C.I.C to collaborate with them on their Insight2Uni programme.

"The Insight2Uni e-mentoring programme is a transformational programme aimed at high potential Black-heritage A-level students. Our mentors are current Black-heritage students from leading universities who are uniquely positioned to be a trusted voice, offering authentic guidance and invaluable insights. With their support, mentees fulfil their potential."

We successfully recruited 12 Black-heritage Durham University students last term, who have since attended training sessions and are ready for their first session with their mentees this evening. Our 12 mentors will be paired with 36 prospective Year 12 Black-heritage students, to help support them on their journey to Higher Education so that they:

  • can make informed university choices
  • are supported to submit high quality applications
  • grow in confidence about applying to top 1/3 ranked universities.

Students will take part in monthly e-mentoring sessions between now and December.
