Research IN Business: Call for Academic Mentors
(26 March 2021)
We are looking for enthusiastic academic mentors to support social science PGR students in the Research IN Business programme, which will take place from 17 May – 23 July 2021. Project lead Dr Derek Watson, Sunderland University, will be hosting an information session for interested parties on Wednesday 31 March, 11.30am - 12.30pm. If you are interested in joining the session, or would like more information about the programme, please contact email@example.com.
Funded by ESRC NPIF Accelerating Business Collaboration fund, Research IN Business aims to accelerate the career prospects of social science PGRs, both within and outside academia, by developing vital skills for academic leadership; collaborative working; transitioning between academia and industry; whilst gaining valuable experience in project delivery.
The scheme will involve social science PGRs from across the NINE DTP network working on a live business challenge over a 10-week period, from 17th May – 23rd July 2021. Project groups will be allocated a mentor within the business and also an academic mentor.
Academic mentors will need to attend five virtual meetings over the ten-week period, each of which will be approximately one-hour in length. Mentors can apply to have their direct staffing costs, for their time spent on the programme, reimbursed to their department
