Research project awards over £500,000 to promote science-engaged theology

(19 March 2021)

Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science, a Templeton Religion Trust-funded project at St John's College, has awarded grants of up to £60,000 to nine theological colleges in the UK to promote science-engaged theology. Colleges are expected to develop or refine at least one core module and host wider-reaching activities which model how science engages with theology. Among the successful applicants was Cranmer Hall.

Theological teachers and scientific advisors will be invited to retreats and conferences to share their progress and hear from leading thinkers in science-engaged theology. The successful recipients are the London School of Theology, Nazarene Theological College, Ripon College Cuddesdon, Regents Theological College, Cranmer Hall, St Augustine’s College of Theology, Sarum College, Wycliffe Hall, and the University of Aberdeen’s School of Divinity.
