Webinar: Referencing and avoiding plagiarism in academic work

Using other people’s ideas, data or creations as evidence in your own work is an essential academic skill in every subject and at every level of study. This Zoom webinar will look at how to cite these sources as references in your academic work.

It will cover:

  • What is plagiarism and how to avoid it by good practice in research and writing
  • What is referencing, and why, when and how to reference
  • Collecting, creating and using references in academic work

The webinar is open to all members of the University and takes place on 11am-12pm on Wednesday 17 March, repeated 2pm-3pm on Friday 19 March.
