Access & Widening Participation Programmes

Applications are now open for the following Summer Schools for Year 12 students from under-represented student groups at Durham University:

Through a series of events, students are provided with a range of support and opportunities to find out more about the University, and allowing them to sample academic sessions, HE Ready resources and learn more about student life at Durham.

Sutton Trust Summer School
Successful students will take part in a six day summer school offering academic sessions, a variety of extra-curricular activities, and the opportunity to meet current Durham students. Additionally, access to Sutton Trust Online provides support and IAG through Year 12 to starting university, and students can access the Sutton Trust’s alumni community after the programme finishes.

Space to Explore Potential (STEP)
Through a three day Summer School, STEP offers a dedicated space for young black students, who are typically underrepresented at Durham University, to explore not only their own potential, but all that Durham has to offer as a potential university.
