Durham Bus Station closure
(12 February 2021)
From Monday 15 February, Durham Bus Station will be closed to allow demolition and redevelopment work to begin. The bus station is due to be closed until September 2022, and a range of new bus stops will be introduced on North Road and at Millburngate. This will start with stand A at the northern end of North Road towards the viaduct and work back towards the city centre.
Work will begin on a new £10.4 million state-of-the-art bus station in Durham City on Monday 15 February. The new station has been designed to increase the overall space for passengers, with increased facilities including parent and child toilets and a changing places toilet, as well as improved seating and space in the passenger waiting area.
